Almost every family wants the boy that can be proud and someday replace the role of the father, as the support for the family. But a new study from Finland found that having a boy not necessarily make a happy family because just with having a boy, the mother could have been not long-lived.

Even according to this study, a woman who had several boys age 8.5 months more little than women who had a number of girls only, no matter how much his wealth and social status. However similar conditions do not affect age of life expectancy father.

The conclusion was obtained after researchers observing birth data in which more than 11,000 mothers of 8 parishes in Finland in the 17th century up to the 20th where the majority of people still agrarian and do not have access to modern health facilities.

From there it is known a mother who had six boys will live average during 32.4 years after the birth of their last child, whereas women who had some a girls can live average during 33.1 years post of birth his last.

Researchers speculate that when conceived, baby boys produce more many hormone testosterone than girls, whereas it can weaken the immune system of the mother. Moreover, baby boys grow faster in the womb so that it feels heavier when conceived, that puts more much load on the body of the mother.

"This study shows increasingly many a Boys who owned a woman, then the post-reproductive survival rate became increasingly lower. Moreover, socio-cultural factors also can play a role in this because when adults, girls are oftentimes still sustain the life of his mother, another case with boys, "explained researchers Dr. Samuli Helle of the University of Turku, Finland as reported by the Daily Mail.

Even so, Dr. Helle suspect this phenomenon appears to apply only for the developing countries. For developed countries such as the UK and Finland of today, this phenomenon may already rarely happens because the number of family who more little and healthcare facilities as well as access towards healthy food already much better.

The study has been published in the journal Biology Letters.
