Children who are less noticed by the family and feeling lonely, it will usually become angry. Temperamental child may require special treatment in order to grow into a healthy psychology.

Researchers at Boston Children's Hospital creates a new breakthrough in the world of health, where researchers are using video games as a therapeutic tool of health management. The purpose of this study is to train the child to control the emotions, thus reducing the need for medication.

Researchers developed a type of game called the Regulate and Gain Emotional Control (RAGE), aircraft shooting game. The game is connected with the heart rate control apparatus mounted on the patient's finger.

Measurable levels of heart rate may affect the continuity of the game. So when emotions increased patient while playing the game, the game automatically stops.

Therefore, the patient needs to control his anger and be more patient in order to continue the game. The study involved a group of children between the ages of 9 to 17 years old who had to be admitted to a hospital psychiatric unit because of difficulty controlling emotions.

The study also compared a group of patients who received standard hospital treatment anger with the group of patients who underwent therapy RAGE. RAGE therapy patient groups known to keep the heart rate better and decreases the frequency of anger from time to time.

Despite these positive findings, this research still needs to be studied further research involving larger objects, because the number of participants involved in the study were only about 37 people were divided into 2 groups.

The study is published in the current issue of the journal Adolescent Psychiatry, as quoted from NaturalNews, Wednesday (11/07/2012).
