For matters of diet, many people believe if you eat carbohydrate foods, especially at night will add their weight. But a study finds that this is precisely the surefire way to get results otherwise.

The method is inspired by a religious diet fasting Muslim month of Ramadan in which they were only able to eat after dusk.

Even according to researchers from the Hebrew University, eating carbs like a bowl of pasta at night can actually reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes in a person.

Researchers also stated that complex carbohydrates are a source of energy and increases feelings of satiety and affect the production of hormones associated with risk factors for heart attack. That is why the Muslim diet method is said to be potentially huge for people who are overweight to get slim.

"The idea emerged from numerous studies of activities of the Muslims during the month of Ramadan, when they fast during the day and
eating carbohydrates at night which showed that leptin release curve changes accordingly, "explained Professor Zecharia Madar, a senior researcher from the Ministry of Education, Israel, reports the Daily Mail, Sunday (11/18/2012).

This conclusion is reinforced by the trial against 78 members of the police who asked researchers to perform Ramadan fasting diet (eating carbs at night) or a weight control diet (eat carbs during the day).

Six months later, researchers looked at the effects of diet participants to the release of the three hormones leptin (a hormone which affects satiety), ghrelin (a hormone that affects hunger) and adiponectin (a hormone associated with obesity, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome).

From there, researchers learned that Ramadan fasting diet encourages positive changes in hormonal profile of participants who were asked to do so. Additionally dieters Ramadan so not easily hungry and had weight, waist circumference and body fat better than other groups.

Researchers also reported that participants who do this diet improved blood sugar, blood lipids and inflammation levels.

To that end, researchers said that focusing carbohydrates at night is very beneficial, especially for people who
risk of developing diabetes or cardiovascular disease due to obesity is going through.

"These findings also provide a better alternative diet for people who have trouble keeping their diet method from time to time," said Professor Madar.

The study has been published in the journal Obesity and Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases.
