Hydrochlorothiazide, Drugs to Overcome High Blood Pressure

Hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Pill hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that causes the body to produce more urine to get rid of excess salt and water.

This drug may also reduce extra fluid in the body that caused by conditions such as heart failure, liver disease, or kidney disease. This can lessen symptoms such as shortness of breath or swelling in the ankles or legs.

Indication

Drugs to treat high blood pressure.

Dose

Drink this medication once daily in the morning with or without food. Do not drink this medication 4 hours before bedtime to prevent having to get up to urinate. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

Avoid drink medications Cholestyramine and colestipol along with hydrochlorothiazide because it can reduce absorption. If you are taking any of these drugs, drink at least 4 hours before or after drink hydrochlorothiazide. Tell your doctor if the condition does not get better or if it worsens.
