Enjoy a relaxing time with drinking soda may seem fun. But according to a recent study, the consumption of sweet drinks such as soda in excessive amounts can increase the risk of depression.
According to a recent study conducted by the American Academy of Neurology, diet soda linked to risk of depression. The study began in 1995, when researchers began to track 263,925 people aged between 50 to 71 years.
During the year, the researchers measured how much participants consumed sugary drinks, such as soda, fruit-flavored drinks with fruits, and coffee. People who drink at least 4 cans of soda per day had a likelihood of depression by 30 percent compared to those who did not consume soda at all.
"The link between soda consumption and depression may be explained that the soda contains artificial sweeteners in high levels and be bad for health.
