Let's Stand up! Too Much Sitting More Deadly Than Smoking

Increased mortality rates in the world, now not again caused by infectious disease factors. Non-communicable diseases due to unhealthy habits such as smoking and lack of physical activity, the number one killer in the world.

Various studies have shown that an unhealthy lifestyle is a major factor in many fatal diseases such as cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke and heart disease.

Nicotine in cigarettes has caused respiratory problems and increase the risk of various diseases mentioned above. According to research published in The Lancet, a lack of physical activity or too much sitting is more dangerous than the adverse effects of smoking.

Too much sitting is considered more deadly than smoking up to 10 percent. Though smoking habit alone has caused many complications of the disease, try to imagine what kind of impact is worse than that caused by lack of physical activity.

The researchers from Harvard Medical School analyzed data on deaths globally in 2008. Most cases of deaths caused by medical conditions associated with low physical activity, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers.

Researchers found that 6 to 10 percent of disease is associated with inactivity someone for at least 150 minutes a week. Even, researchers say the lack of physical activity is exactly what causes 5.3 million deaths, compared with 5 million deaths due to from smoking.

"With decrease the risk level of 10 percent could save 533,000 more lives around the world every year," said the researchers, as reported fitsugar, Wednesday (09/01/2013).

A number of other studies have also found that most people spend too much time sitting at the computer working without balanced with exercise. This can be overcome by increasing physical activity by exercising 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes each workout.

Choose the type of moderate exercise such as walking and frequently rise from your seat just to grab a drink or stretch the muscles of the body. How can combat deaths caused because too much sitting.
