Prednisone, Medicine for Treating Disorders of the Immune System

Description

Prednisone is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood disorders, respiratory disorders, severe allergies, skin diseases, cancer, eye problems, and immune system disorders. Prednisone belongs to the class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by lowering the immune system's response to various diseases to reduce symptoms such as allergic reactions and swelling.

Indication

Prednisone is a medicine to treat immune system disorders.

Dose

Take this medicine with food or milk to prevent stomach upset, as directed by your doctor. Prednisone was in the form of tablets and some liquid. If your doctor prescribes a dose per day, take this medicine in the morning before 9. Dose and duration of treatment is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Do not stop treatment suddenly without your doctor's approval, as it may cause withdrawal symptoms such as weakness, weight loss, nausea, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, and dizziness. To prevent withdrawal symptoms, your doctor may reduce the dose gradually. Report to your doctor if your condition does not get better or even worse.
