Most people are often less aware that an unhealthy lifestyle has made her stomach distended. Do not ignore this, because the fat in the abdomen has been associated with the development of certain types of cancer.

Researchers from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston conducted a study that showed that fat progenitor cells may contribute to cancer growth by strengthening the blood vessels needed for tumors to grow.

Studies that have been done previously shown that there is a correlation between obesity and cancer rates. Overweight and obesity are known to aggravate and accelerate the development of certain types of cancer.

The researchers used mice as the object of study divided into two groups, obese mice and lean mice. Then the researchers applied the same diet in each group. As a result, the development of tumor cells in mice that obesity is much faster than in leaner mice.

The scientists also found that obese mice have white adipose cells more. If the cells are white adipose stromal cells into, the tumor cells formed.

Stromal cells that have entered the adipose also contribute to angiogenesis, functional components that supply nutrients and oxygen to fuel cancer growth. Thus, this can lead to an increased risk of cancer by 50 percent.

Types of cancer associated overweight and obesity are prostate, breast, ovarian, colorectal cancer, and kidney. This research is very important to know how excess body fat is an independent risk factor leading to the growth and progression of cancer.

"You need to pay attention to diet and increasing physical activity to prevent overweight and reduce the risk of cancer," said Dr.. Mikhail Kolonin, author of the study. The results are published in the journal Cancer Research, as reported by NaturalNews, Friday (11/09/2012).
