Prevent Disease with Local Food


Nowadays more and more people are affected by non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, cancer or prostate. Most of the causes are caused by lifestyle by eating unhealthy foods. For that one way to prevent it is to raise a healthy local food.

"Local Food has the potential to prevent non-communicable diseases," said Prof. Ahmad Sulaeman, food scientists from the ITB event Cruising Nutritalk Nutrition Sarihusada in Bale Raos, Yogyakarta, and written on Monday (11/05/2012).

Local food source in other areas such as breadfruit that has good nutrition, especially for carbohydrate source, or root crops such as yams arrowroot a complete vitamin content, as well as iron and mineral content and fiber content is high.

"Support the resistance and nutritional aids priced for families, because local food is grown almost the same as organic, pesticide sprayed rare, rich taste and good nutritional content. Sanitation Only drawback that needs to be fixed," said Prof Ahmad.
