Celiac disease is a digestive disorder that can damage the small intestine and interferes with the absorption of nutrients from food. A new study conducted by the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University found that 6 percent of women with fertility problems, turned out to have celiac disease.

These women manage to get pregnant after treatment of celiac. People with celiac disease can not tolerate gluten, a protein contained in wheat, rye and barley.

Try to switch to a gluten free diet for celiac disease to manage and reduce symptoms, such as diarrhea, cramps, bloating, and non-gastrointestinal problems such as short stature, anemia and liver problems. Some people may not develop certain symptoms or new symptoms appear after the disease progresses.

Antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (tTG) may have a negative impact on the development of the placenta. This enzyme, found throughout the body and play a role in helping the formation of the fetus. TTG is abnormal due to celiac disease, can directly affect a woman's ability to maintain a pregnancy.

Health organizations such as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine immediately consider implementing a national screening guidelines. So the woman knows that she has celiac disease that needs to be cured quickly if wanted pregnancy.

As reported Sheknows, Tuesday (18/12/2012), women with celiac disease have to change your diet by eating natural foods that are free of gluten include rice, soybeans, potatoes, nuts and seeds.
