Samsung is famous as one of the producers the gadget that dominate the smart phone market based android. More recently, the South Korean government charged that the companies that contributed greatly to the wealth of this country is responsible for the cancer that afflicts employees.

This case stems from the death of a female employee named Kim for breast cancer in 2012 at the beginning of last year. Compensation and welfare services department workers in South Korea ruled that Samsung must provide compensation to the families of the death of Kim.

As quoted from the Medical Daily, Friday (21/12/2012), employee welfare protection agency, said that for the past 5 years with the company, the work done Kim makes her risk of developing breast cancer. The agency also confirmed that Samsung should be responsible for cancer and death.

Unfortunately, the amount of compensation to be awarded is not explained, and the department did not announce the exact nominal. But reportedly, the employee welfare protection agencies usually demand monetary compensation equivalent to approximately 4 years of salary.

Kim died in March 2012 at the age of 36 years. She was diagnosed with breast cancer three years earlier and quite unusual since a very young age accounted for esophageal cancer. Kim worked at Samsung from 1995 to 2000.

Compensation and welfare services department worker said that working in a factory Samsung led Kim frequent exposure to organic solvents and radiation. The agency also cites a study that found that working the night shift associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.

Kim himself often work at night shift for 8 to 12 hours. Usually the night shift starts at 10 pm and finished at 6 am. A group of activists also claimed that Kim worked in a factory that is not equipped with radiation detectors and are often exposed to other carcinogens benozene as well.

Hearing this the government's decision, Samsung asserts that it would not appeal. This incident is the second time in which the agency is asking Samsung to give compensation to the employees affected by the disease or health problem.

In last April 2012, the agency had determined that Samsung is responsible for aplastic anemia suffered by employees. Now the largest electronics companies in South Korea can be said to be overrun by employee complaints.

Nearly 30 people employees admitted to various forms of rare diseases such as multiple sclerosis and brain tumors after working in Samsung factory. The case is likely to encourage other employees to file complaints against their health complaints to Samsung.
